Our quarterly meetings are a chance for members to challenge their art skills, and create art to a theme.
We hold four Quarterly meetings a year, where members bring an artwork they have made within the last 12 months that fits the theme. Artists are invited to share the concept, technique and medium used.
The purpose of these 'In house' exhibition meetings is to inspire, mentor, provide constructive feedback, advise and learn the principals of art.
All members are encouraged to enter and attend these meetings. Artworks are voted on and top 3 winners are awarded a certificate of merit.
Light refreshments are provided cost $5.
Eleven members attended with nine entries for judging. A very varied selection for our first quarterly in 2025 that let our imaginations run riot.
Winners on the day were
1st Joanne, 2nd Penny, 3rd Jenny

First up was Sammy who had painted an open door with a small oval aperture in it showing a landscape with a waterfall. She said her painting was about the door opening the mind to literature, and had painted books which she had shown at the bottom of the painting. She said that she was rushed to finish the painting due to her study commitments. It was painted in acrylics
Winners on the day were:
Joint 1st Fay and Kim, with Ellen second.
This was a very varied display with some very interesting entries, so well done everyone.

First up was Ellen who had a nice frame so decided to paint something to fit it, so she conjured up a landscape scene from sections of other paintings that turned into a waterfall in portrait format. It was painted with pastel pencils on grey paper and depicted her idea of paradise. Only a small painting but very well executed.
